| The Simmons Management Group, Inc. was established in June of 1993. They began with three clients in a "shared office suite" in Calverton, MD. There was no marketing done for the first year-and-a-half because Mr. Simmons wanted to be sure that the company was set up correctly and was properly servicing the three existing clients before attempting to grow. Once the current clients renewed their contracts and an independent audit was performed for each client, the marketing began! Over the following five years, the company enjoyed a controlled growth to 25 Condominium, Cooperative and Homeowner association clients. With this type of growth it was soon apparent that the SMG needed to "grow up" and acquire its own office space. In April of 1998, they rented 1,800 square feet of space in Greenbelt, MD and purchased all of the needed equipment. As retention continued and the marketing program flourished, the growth continued. In November of 2000 they need more space again! While searching for a larger space, Mr Simmons was given the opportunity to purchase a small office building in College Park/Berwyn Heights, MD. The purchase was made and SMG took occupancy of 8911 60th Avenue in College Park, MD in April of 2001. The office is still situated there today. We are extremely pleased that, except for 14 years left on the mortgage, the company is entirely debt free! |
