Mr. Simmons began his career in property management in 1972, bringing to The Simmons Management Group, Inc., 39 years of diversified experience. He has managed association, rental and commercial real estate in all local jurisdictions.

Prior to forming The Simmons Management Group, Inc., Larry was employed by Grady Management, Inc. from September 10, 1984 to July 13, 1990. Originally hired as a property manager he was promoted to Assistant Vice President just two years later. Due to his exceptional ability to communicate with Boards of Directors and owners; attain results when others were having difficulty; train and work with staff; due to his thorough knowledge of association accounting and financial reporting; and his overall ability to efficiently MANAGE associations, he was promoted to Acting Vice President of Grady's Condominium Cooperative Division in August 1989.

Prior to Grady Management, Inc., Mr. Simmons served as property manager for both condominium and rental properties for Zalco Realty for three and one half years. 

Mr. Simmons has completed degree requirements for his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Maryland. He has passed the rigorous requirements needed to receive the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation from the Community Association Institute.

He also holds a District of Columbia Property Manager's License, Maryland Low Pressure Steam Engineer's License and Maryland & Virginia Real Estate Broker's Licenses, all of which he obtained to enhance his professional competence.

A past president of the Property Management Association of Metropolitan Washington, he is also the recipient of the Outstanding Young Men of America award for achievement within the property management profession, as well as within the community.

In October 1986, Mr. Simmons was awarded Property Manager of the Year by his peers in the Property Management Association of Washington. He is a member of the Community Association Institute where he has spoken at two National Conferences, speaks frequently at local seminars, and hosted the National PCAM Case Study at one of his communities in the Fall of 1991 and again in the Fall of 1995.
